Degree in Architecture Has No Guarantee of Becoming an Architect

It is sad to say, but it is so true that not all architecture graduates will go straight forward to their dreamed, to become a licensed Architect. By just looking on the past board exam results, the majority of the examinees always fail. And in addition to that, there might also other graduates that do not have the chance to take the board exam at all. This is why there are only few registered architects in the country until today. As of 30-Jun-2013, only 12,172 registered Architects listed in the List of Members in Good Standing by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP). This list however excludes the deceased and non-active architects.

2014 Architect Board Exam Schedule in Manila and Middle East

The schedule of the Licensure Board Examination for Architects of the year 2014 has been set.

The first schedule is on January 17 and 19, that’s Friday and Sunday respectively, to be held in Manila. Three weeks earlier on that or on December 27 2013 is the deadline in filling the application of January 2014 exam.

The second schedule of the Architect's board examination is on June 13 and 15, Friday and Sunday and to be held again in Manila. The deadline of filling in this exam is on May 26, 2014.

Another new batch of Architects! Congratulations for the successful 227 (60.05%) board passers out of 378 examinees!

After a month of waiting, the PRC have officially released the result of the Special Professional Licensure Board Examination for Architects (SPLBE) held in Jeddah and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and in Doha, Qatar last October 2013.

UAP CONEX 2013

The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), is organizing a 3-day event Convention Exhibits or the “CONEX 2013”, to be held on April 18 to 20, 2013 at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

This event is absolutely free, no entrance fee and everybody are welcome to come. It’s expected to have the presence of thousands of Architects from around the Philippines who would like to witness this yearly event dedicated for them. Also other expected audiences are the Design Professionals, Engineers, Contractors and students.

Board Exam Result: Jan-2013 Licensure Exam for Architects Held in Manila

The Professional Regulation Commission announces that 816 out of 1,557 (52.4%) passed the Architect Licensure Examination (ALE) held in Manila last January 25 and 27, 2013, given by the Board of Architecture headed by Chairman, Arch. Rolando L. Cordero with members, Arch. Angeline T. Chua Chiaco and Arch. Marietta Bundalian Segovia.

Do you wish to have a degree in Architecture? Well, that’s great. Architect profession in the Philippines is shining and not too populated. Besides, the education in Architecture is Superb and you could even learn things that are so useful in everyday living and could probably shaped you into a much better person as you mature.

This year 2013, another Foreign Licensure Examination for Architects as part of the PRC’s Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations will be held in the Middle East countries for Overseas Filipino Workers situated there. This program is a big help for the non-licensed OFW professionals, to make their dream closer to them. There’s no need to pause their job then go to Philippines just to take the board exam, which is a very time consuming process. Now, it is the Examiner who will reach out to their Examinees.

Logbook on Diversified Experience in Architecture

The Logbook is required for those firs-timer Examinees only, in order to qualify in taking the Board Licensure Examination for Architects in the Philippines. Repeaters need not to submit this again.

What actually required is not the logbook, but the diversified work experience of the Examinee for at least 2 years. The Logbook in the other hand is the proof document that details the trainings where he/she went thru during the job under the direction of a mentor, a registered and licensed Architect.

The Republic of the Philippines, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 207 out of 397 passed the Architect Licensure Examination given by the Board of Architecture in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Al-Khobar and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in Doha, Qatar last October 2012.
